Mission Trip Requirements |
|
|
We have established a set of minimum requirements regarding participation on our mission teams. We believe in the call of God on every believer to "share the good news" of the Kingdom. At the same time we recognize that traveling to a different culture and doing in-depth ministry as part of a team calls for certain maturity levels and certain ministry skills. Without that basic maturity level and ministry abilities one could prove to be a detriment to team moral and success.
Here is a list of the basic requirements to be part of a ministry trip:
- You will need a passport.
- A regular church attendee.
- A healthy personal prayer life and commitment to personal Bible study.
- A member of a small group in good standing.
- A regular financial contributor to the church (tithing, etc)
- An endorsement from a staff pastor.
- Approval by the team leader of the specific mission trip.
- We ask that all potential mission trip team members attend as many of our Prayer Ministry Team training opportunities as possible. These trainings occur monthly on the first Saturday of the month at the Dayton Campus or on the third Saturday of the month at the Beavercreek Campus, from 9:30-11:30am. There will be certain ones that we will all attend together as a team (please refer to the calendar in the packet).
- We also ask that all potential mission trip team members attend as many of our outreach opportunities as possible. Outreaches occur monthly on the second Saturday of the month and on the last Saturday of the month from 11:00am-2:00pm. There will be certain ones that we will all participate in together as a team (please refer to the calendar in the packet).
- We require team members to be financially responsible for all travel and trip expenses. In the event that we might have an excess of funds in the mission budget, partial scholarships may possibly be available. Team members will be required to raise a minimum of 80-90% of all expenses prior to consideration of a partial scholarship.
