Where?
1222 N. Main St. Dayton, Ohio 45405
When? Sunday services begin at 10:00am.
Our Dayton Campus Story When Scott, Bonnie, Marcie and myself (Doug Roe) first came to Dayton to start the Vineyard, we weren't sure where to start. So I began praying asking God to show us where to begin. I was directed to an area north of downtown Dayton at Main Street and Helena. We started serving out of the trunk of my Toyota, and we had the time of our lives. We have served the people of this city in many different ways over the past sixteen years and have seen our church grow in size and strength.
A year ago I had several dreams about developing a Dayton location for our church. I decided to do some personal experimental ministry ideas like a youth basketball event and going door to door with bags of groceries and offering prayer. Again, I was not sure where to start, so I asked God, "Where do you want me to start?" I heard a clear inner voice say to start where we started back in 1991 "Down on Main Street."
God is so good, because as we stepped out in faith, He gave us a place from which to serve...Memorial Baptist Church in Dayton. Their congregation has been in decline for years and their leaders began praying about what to do with their future. They decided to use their assets to serve the people of this city and began looking for an outward-focused group that would love the people of their neighborhood. They began accepting proposals for future use of their building. We were asked to submit a proposal that they have accepted. They also have a strong desire to see a thriving congregation carry on their legacy in the community. Over the past year, we have transformed their facility into the Dayton Campus of the Vineyard, "A pretty good church!"
Doug speaks most weeks at the service at our Dayton Campus, but whoever speaks at the Beavercreek Campus makes the 15 minute trip to Dayton to deliver the message. Scott, Steve, and Kevin have all spoken there as well.
The worship team is taking shape under Jim's leadership. It is both very similar to the worship at the Beavercreek Campus, but also has it's own unique flavor. Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:00 AM!
We have a Pantry that opens every Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. There is always a hot breakfast served to those who join us. Eggs and bacon, French toast, grits and Boston Stoker coffee are staples on the menu. Groceries are available some weeks as well.
You are welcome to come and be a part of this new venture we are developing to meet the needs in the surrounding neighborhood and community. Volunteers begin arriving to help prepare at 8:30 AM. The doors open at 10:00 AM.
We are currently in the process of raising capital to make some improvements to the property. The HVAC system has been updated, and more projects are on the way.
It is our sincere desire to honor this incredible gift we have been given. This has been a huge surprise to us all, since we didn't pursue it. It pursued us in the middle of our Sabbath year. This is really a testimony to God's generosity and His faithfulness as we have tried to "serve Him with glad and sincere hearts." Acts 2:46
