Part 1: Yours for the Giving“The Lord knows the days of the blameless, And their inheritance will be forever. They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have abundance.”Psalm 37:18-19 1) Living as more than conquerors, not merely as survivors. (Romans 8:37)“Teach me Your ways so I may know You and continue to find favor with You.” Exodus 33:13 (NIV) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 2) Learning God’s ways - vertical thinking.“Now there was a famine in the land, besides the previous famine that had occurred in the days of Abraham. So Isaac went to Gerar, to Abimelech king of the Philistines. The LORD appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt...Now Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. And the LORD blessed him, and the man became rich, and continued to grow richer until he became very wealthy”. Genesis 26:1-2 & 12-13 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ” Romans 10:17 3) The Freedom of the sons.“Then are the children free.” Matthew 17:26 (KJV) Knowing God’s covenant promises: The Sermon of the Mount (Matthew 6:25-34):Vs. 25, 31, and 34: God has commanded you to not worry! Vs. 32: Your Heavenly Father knows your needs! Vs. 32: You are in a covenant relationship with God! Vs .33: You are free to be a giver, not a mere taker! 4) Kingdom living’s in the giving.“’God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply”’ Genesis 1:22, 28, 8:17, 9:1, 9:7 “This place is desolate and the hour is already late; so send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!” They said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” And He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds, and they all ate and were satisfied. They picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve full baskets. There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children.” Matthew 14:15-21 God’s keys for Kingdom giving:Vs. 15: Think vertically, not horizontally. Vs. 16: The Kingdom of God is always one of abundance. Vs. 17-18: Put your all in His hands. Vs. 19: Grace, not striving. Vs. 19: Pray with a thankful heart. Vs. 20: God’s provision always satisfies. Vs. 22: Kingdom reaping and sowing results in divine multiplication |
